In February this year the Not for profit aged care provider launched “The Village” – a 16-unit retirement village attached to a 126-bed care facility in Drummoyne, 8km from the Sydney CBD.
Scalabrini are offering one- and two-bedroom apartments, called the Palazzo range, from $1.3 million to $1.8 million, with a 35% DMF over four years. The apartments are large, with spacious balconies and terraces, most with views.
Designed so that residents can age in place, care services, up to reasonably high care, can be delivered into the apartment from the adjacent facility. Residents can participate in all the activities provided within the village.
A resident ‘buys’ the apartment and that finances the RAD when the time comes to transition into aged care.
It means couples stay together a lot longer and the remaining partner has a clear care path for their future.
