Australian seniors aren’t the only national demographic creating new demand amongst retirement village operators and lifestyle providers. In fact, two major retirement village groups in New Zealand have recently reported the same trends.
The village operator is now offering potential residents the chance to experience life in a retirement village before moving in.
Italian Aged Care has applied to build a three-storey, 84-bed aged care facility adjacent to its existing village and aged care site in Marangaroo in Perth.
Residents at SwanCare’s Bentley Park village – Western Australia’s largest co-located development – have voted in favour of a new $60 million community hub and leisure precinct that will transform the existing 15-hectare site.
The South Australian not-for-profit operator says that over the next decade, the number of over-65’s living in Adelaide will rise from around 215,000 to more than 274,000.
