Further proof that more Australians are looking for both community and lifestyle when they retire – a not-for-profit village operator in the NSW Northern Rivers town of Ballina has just announced it will build a new $10 million village, its first in more than 20 years.
The new operator was founded by former RetireAustralia colleagues Tim Russell and Mark Taylor in September last year, but has set itself a target of 2,000 in the next five years.
Independent retirement village operator Elements Retirement Living at Springwood has moved to welcome new regulations for retirement villages across the state of Queensland, with Elements founder and managing director, Chiou See Anderson, declaring that it is important for residents to have a voice.
This week saw Catholic Healthcare host a forum open to members of the wider Jemalong and Central Western New South Wales community, in an open effort to gather feedback on their plans to redevelop the existing Jemalong Residential Village, and the proposed retirement living village.
The 51-unit Kingsgrove Living village is being planned for the Windsor Circle Estate in Kingaroy, 210km northwest of Brisbane, and will be the first lifestyle community for the area.
